Sheikh Bilal Ismael
Shari’ah Advisor, EISD
Sheikh Bilal Ismail, a distinguished Islamic Scholar and educator, serves as an Instructor at Alkauthar Institute and Director of the Imam Development Program which now helps develop over 480 Imams across 14 African countries. Sheikh Bilal Ismail memorized the Qur’an during his school.
The pull towards Islamic studies became too strong to ignore, so he applied and got accepted to the Islamic University of Madinah. There, he completed a Diploma in Arabic and earned a BA in Islamic Law from the Faculty of Shari’ah. Despite his vast knowledge, he humbly refers to himself as a lifelong student of knowledge.
Ashfaque Chowdhury FCCT is a highly experienced educational consultant and senior leader with over two decades of impactful service in the education sector, both in the UK and internationally. He has held headteacher roles at multiple independent schools for over 16 years.
He currently serves as:
- Director at Chiltern Learning Trust (since July 2022).
- Executive Head at Birchfield Independent Girls School (since October 2021)
- Chair of the Association of Muslim Schools UK (since September 2012)
