Emerald International School, Dhaka, secured championship titles, runner-up positions, and international qualification opportunities at the Asian Spelling Bee Competition on May 23, 2026. M M Ronok, the founder, states, “We start and maintain a focus on language when the students enter. It’s the ultimate tool to expand their curiosity and learning ability while expressing themselves. We are representing our national potential on an international stage.”
The Asian Spelling Bee, held on May 23, 2026, was hosted by and organized by Edupro Concepts Bangladesh Limited, in collaboration with the Spelling Bee of China (SPBCN). They select the best participants to go forward in intercontinental and international challenges in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
Twenty Students from Grades 3-8 have represented the school at the prestigious Competition. Emerald International witnessed exemplary performances across all participating grades, with two winners in the Grade 3-5 and Grade 6-9 age groups. Shahnan Sabit Nirjhor (Grade 5) secured the championship after consistently delivering throughout the competition; moreover, Yusuf Md. Shafiq (Grade 3) secured the runner-up position in the same category. Amr Eesaa Bin Mohammad (Grade 7) and Anabia Sahrish Rafah (Grade 6) advanced to the final rounds and finished as runner-up finalists after highly competitive tie-breaker sessions. Ronok believes that it is their constant commitment to engaging children in language, “It starts with play to learn, and then gradually keeping that curiosity alive for the students. We adapt with each grade to make sure that the curriculum is more immersive and that our students are learning through interaction and activities.”
Their commitment is evident in this achievement, with 11 students from the school qualifying to represent both Bangladesh and the institution at the upcoming Asian Spelling Bee Championship in Shanghai, China, in July 2026.
Educationists and school authorities described the accomplishment as a reflection of the institution’s continued emphasis on academic rigor, language development, and competitive learning. The students’ success also highlights the collective dedication to education as a community of teachers, mentors, and parents.
